Once again John Woolley Ltd sponsored the Indoor Carriage Driving championships this year which were held in Grantham at the end of April.
Our Business Manager, Tracey, attended the event with her two children to show our support and present the prize to the overall supreme champion, which this year went to Ruby Gray who also won the ‘Open Pony’ class at the age of just 14 years old!
Tracey’s daughter Madison is a keen equestrian and sent us the following report from their weekend:
The parking bay was a ray of colour’s of all different lorries and trailers from all over the country. This event brings together all the local regions ‘best of the best’ to compete for the championship. From the novice to the open classes we watched the obstacle driving taking place, the speed that the more experienced drivers completed the obstacles was fascinating to watch, with the carriages zooming around the course with lots of happy faces and crowds cheering everyone on.
When the winners received their prizes the lap of honour was then called for, each competitor having flags from the region/country waving behind them.
